PRIME FACTORIZATION

Composite numbers can be expressed as a product of prime factors. Factor trees make this easy.

Example: Factorize 48

        48
      / \
     6 8
    / \ / \
   2 3 2 4
             / \
            2 2

Prime factorization: 48 = 2⁴ × 3
